I believe in utilizing different styles of leadership to accommodate the need. I consider myself intelligent, able to manage conflict, tension and stressful experiences well. I believe in building a consensus and strive to communicate well both verbally and in writing. I understand the role of a leader to be that of demonstration and exercising that position in positive ways. I strive to develop good interpersonal relationships with colleagues, teachers, parents, school board members, community members, and students. I have been teaching for over twenty years. I have a Bachelors’ degree in Education, a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a Master’s degree in Education, a Clear Credential in Administrative Services, a Clear Designated Subjects Credential and a Preliminary Credential in Mathematics with a Common Core focus.
I have five years of experience being a Math department chairperson and a testing coordinator. I supervised the instructional program and activities of my department. As part of the PQR review I assessed the needs of the math department and shared these results with my principal, parent advisory committee, and department member. My most recent administrative position is as a Principal for LAUSD at Wallis Annenberg High school. I have 5 plus years of experience as a Principal working for Public, Private and Charter schools. I consider my expertise to be in fields of Education, Professional Development, Administration, Leadership, Mathematics, Science and Technology. Over the past fifteen years, I have been fortunate to assist administrative staff members in the areas of student behavior management, student attendance problems, and the development of the master schedule. I was also afforded the opportunity to assist with individual student counseling, campus supervision and the organization of campus clubs and activities. One of my projects was to start a PAL program at Higher Ground learning center. I applied for a grant and was fortunate to have it funded as a startup program. My understanding of technology has been an asset and I am continuing to improve my skills in this area along with learning Spanish. I also assisted different principals in developing the school budget and helped to plan a classified staff recognition program. Throughout my administrative training program I volunteered to take on as many activities as I could manage along with my teaching schedule. I believe that this training has prepared me to become an outstanding manager/administrator.
Currently, I am a Mathematics teacher in San Bernardino, An Evangelist Missionary, a Doctoral Student at CSUSB, Chief Financial Administrator and Director over the Women’s Department at New Hope Community COGIC where my husband is the Pastor.
